At the invitation of the organizers of the International Carnival in Yasmine Hammamet in Tunis responded the multiple champions of Croatia and Europe – Sveta Jana majorettes, and for musical accompaniment they brought the well-coordinated members of the DVD Domagović Wind Orchestra.
A large Croatian group of 41 members took part in the International Carnival, and this was also the first presentation of participants from our country. In addition to our representatives, more than 700 artists from 8 countries and about 300 representatives of the host country presented themselves to the excited and numerous African audience, who delighted over 100,000 spectators with their colorful costumes and attractive performances. The enthusiasm of the organizers for the participants from Jastrebarsko is most evident from the fact that they have already been invited to participate next year.
For many of them, this was the first opportunity to fly by plane, which further enhanced the experience, and in addition to numerous performances, of which there were as many as eight – two were joint and three were separate, there were also opportunities for organized excursions where they got to know the culture of a distant country.
Participation in the festival was supported by the Zagreb County, the City of Jastrebarsko, the Association of Cultural and Artistic Associations of the City of Jastrebarsko, and the companies Duplico and Drvna industrija Rubinić. We hereby thank them for recognizing our efforts and work and helping us to present our association to the African audience and have a truly unforgettable experience.
